About Greater Noida |
|
| |
Despite being the latest to be regarded as an NCR of Delhi, Greater Noida is poised to become a leader of all its adjacent cities and urban centers in terms of better and stricter urban planning and housing schemes. Unlike other NCRs, it is not supposed to be a dependent on Delhi for all its major requirements, as the plan explicitly has provision for the creation of its own railway junction and international airport. Greater Noida would, by all means, be a full-fledged city having features of a truly world-class city and advanced facilities for a sumptuous lifestyle.
The idea to create an extension of the existing Noida is of recent origin and a brainchild of the UP Government. The massive influx of people to Delhi in search of better employment prospects led to the creation of Noida and other NCRs in the last decade of the previous century.

However, the ever-increasing population of these areas and rising cost of properties lying there have made it necessary to explore possibilities anew, and thus the idea to create Greater Noida took sprout. Cashing in on the circumstances created by the depleting resources of Delhi NCR areas, the state government has created Greater Noida Authority to attract investment for its residential and commercial development.
The stringent planning scheme of the city has seen its division into well laid-out sectors named after the Greek alphabets, such as alpha, beta, gamma etc. It is chiefly a residential township planned carefully to imbibe the ethos of modern house planning. Wide roads, underground cabling and drainage system, and availability of reputed educational institutions, shopping centers, medical facilities and entertainment complexes and plethora of open spaces are some of the features that attract all categories of home buyers and property seekers here.
As a major portion of the city is still in the process of development, Greater Noida appears to be a safe destination for a long term real estate investment. If everything goes as has been planned, Greater Noida will start featuring on the route map of Delhi Metro system by 2016. Most of the construction work is expected to be over by that time and Greater Noida will emerge as a world-class mega city on the political map of India.
